Privacy Policy

Your privacy is fundamental to HealthSave. The short version: the app collects no data, your health data stays on your device unless you export a file or sync to a destination you configure. The marketing website uses analytics cookies with your consent; details are in Cookies & Website Analytics below.

Data Collection

The HealthSave iOS app collects zero data. The app uses no analytics, tracking pixels, advertising SDKs, crash reporting, or any form of data collection, no user accounts, no sign-ups, and no HealthSave cloud service receiving your health data. The marketing website (healthsave.app) does use analytics cookies; see Cookies & Website Analytics.

Health Data

HealthSave reads health data from Apple HealthKit with your explicit permission. This data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to any server we operate.

The types of health data HealthSave may read include:

  • Heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV)
  • Blood oxygen saturation (SpO2)
  • Step count, walking/running distance
  • Active energy burned, resting energy
  • Sleep analysis (duration and stages)
  • Workout sessions
  • Body mass (weight)
  • Exercise minutes, stand hours
  • Respiratory rate, body temperature
  • VO2 max

This data is used solely to display dashboards, generate trend charts, and produce export files within the app.

Data Export

When you choose to export or sync your data, it goes only to destinations you explicitly configure:

  • Local files (CSV, JSON, PDF) saved to your device or shared via the iOS share sheet
  • Self-hosted servers you configure with your own URL
  • Home Assistant instances on your local network that you configure
  • Cloud storage (Google Drive, iCloud, Dropbox) via the iOS share sheet

We never access, intercept, or store any data you export or sync. Destinations are configured by you and data flows directly from your device to the destination you choose.

Third-Party Services

The HealthSave app does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data collection services. The only network requests the app makes are to servers and endpoints you configure yourself. If you do not configure any external destinations, the app makes zero network requests. (Analytics on the website are covered under Cookies & Website Analytics.)

Cookies & Website Analytics

This section is about the website (healthsave.app), not the app. The site loads Google Tag Manager (which in turn loads Google Analytics) so we can see aggregate traffic, pages visited, approximate region, and referrer. It never receives your health data; the app does not send health data to the website.

We handle consent based on your location:

  • EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland: analytics cookies are not set until you choose Accept on the cookie banner. Choosing Reject means no analytics run at all.
  • United States, Canada, and elsewhere: analytics load by default, and you can choose Opt out from the banner at any time.

Your choice is saved locally in your browser. To change it, clear this site's data in your browser and reload to see the banner again. Analytics cookies are set by Google, see Google's Privacy Policy. We set no advertising cookies.

Data Storage

All app data (settings, sync state, preferences) is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage mechanisms (UserDefaults and the app sandbox). Nothing is stored on external servers because we do not operate any servers.

In-App Purchases

HealthSave Pro is a one-time purchase processed entirely through Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store any payment information. Apple handles all billing. See Apple's Privacy Policy for details on how Apple processes payments.

Children's Privacy

HealthSave does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. Since we collect no data from any user, this policy applies equally to all ages.

GDPR and International Users

Since the HealthSave app collects no personal data, GDPR data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) do not apply to it, there is no app data to access, correct, delete, or transfer. The website processes limited analytics data only with your consent (see Cookies & Website Analytics); in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland nothing loads until you accept, and you can withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner.

Changes to This Policy

If we update this policy, changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be communicated through the app's "What's New" section on the App Store.
